Launched in December 2017 at the National Museum of Yaoundé, the celebration of 10 years of achievements of the Debt Reduction and Development Contract (C2D) in Cameroon continued during 2018 in several regions of Cameroon. The series of events, which focused on the promotion of achievements, was characterized by many articulations and activities. These included the organization of a round table broadcast on CRTV, a press conference, photo exhibitions of the programs, the screening of a film recalling C2D's achievements in the regions and the organization of a gala cocktail.
In the political capital, Yaoundé, the demonstrations were attended by many members of the government, the French ambassador to Cameroon, senior officials of the French Development Agency (AFD), members of civil society, decentralized local authorities, women and men in the media and beneficiaries of C2D-funded programmes and projects.
In the interior of the country, the celebrations were presided over by the regional governors or their representatives. The opportunity was thus given to enhance the territoriality of the C2D, whose presence is ensured throughout the territory, to highlight the different beneficiaries and to celebrate the success stories. Here and there, the events took place according to the same principle of institutional celebration: a sequence consisting of an exhibition of achievements, open to the public; a theatrical event, punctuated by the screening of two documentaries, the first on the 10th anniversary of the C2D in Cameroon, and the second on achievements in the region.n.
