A framework agreement for the renovation and development of vocational training was signed on 26 October 2018 at the Yaoundé Convention Centre between Cameroon and France. It was a solemn moment and special circumstances. The official launch of the activities of the 3rd phase of the Programme of Support for the Renovation and Development of Vocational Training in the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Sectors, Consolidation and Sustainability Phase (PCP-AFOP), brought together an important audience of guests.
After the protocol ceremony devoted to the speeches and the presentation of the issues related to this phase, followed the signing ceremony of a framework agreement between the French and Cameroonian governments. To initial the document, on the Cameroonian side, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and on the French side, the French Ambassador to Cameroon.
This agreement, which establishes the framework for cooperation in the field of agro-pastoral and rural education and training, is based on the steering of national policies on agro-pastoral and rural training, human resources training, the modernization of the institutional and regulatory framework of the agro-pastoral and rural education and training system, educational practices, curriculum content, governance of training institutions and educational application tools. It also concerns the process of anchoring training institutions in their territory, tools for managing partnerships between private training institutions and the State, strengthening the technical structures of the ministerial departments of the Republic of Cameroon in charge of agropastoral and rural training issues, as well as the monitoring and evaluation of policies and mechanisms by the technical structures of the ministerial departments in charge of agropastoral and rural training issues.
This will certainly boost the fields of agro-pastoral and rural education and training in Cameroon, but also restore the image of an important sector of the country's economy.
